Didn’t notice it… One Million Hits

Monday, August 18th, 2008
... Wow!!! One million since August 2005. Not a big deal for the giants out there who get much more than this in a day. But for me this is huge!!! You all stuck with me! In spite of my ups and downs, going AWOL for long periods of time and even writing posts that irked some of you (Desun Guns Zindabad!)... you, dear readers kept following these posts... for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart... Thank You... Thank You... Thank You... And the journey on this train... continues... :)

PFCRonin - The contest for Movie Reviewing

Sunday, December 16th, 2007
The question I get is "Why?"... from most who know me on a personal level. They have reasons to ask the question. And yep, it's a very valid question. The PFCOne Film Festival saw me stressed to levels I haven't experienced for a long time... the last bright stressful moment I remember was trying to save a million dollar contract that would be lost and the blame would fall on my the then 26 year old shoulders. In short - my boss would have thrown me off the 30th floor office in the beautiful concrete Genzai district. So why? The questioners after the festival see me as going cranky. I have these days developed a wonderfully short temperament that ...

THE MBA GANG : Paperback and eBook

Saturday, April 14th, 2007
The MBA Gang is coming next week out in print to order and eBook for Download editions. I would first like to thank the first members of Desitrain's Inner Circle - those who encouraged me to go ahead and write fiction - however shitty it may have been. Neha Kamath, Shuchita Nayak, Pundalik Dhuri, Chandni Malik, Neha, Vi, Manoj Mhapankar, beeonthebrow, Ranga (WB), Cliff Letterman and many others who kicked my bottom to get on with it. The result is more than 6 fiction stories since The MBA Gang. Thanks to Trasie Stittsworth, from Hollywood, for being a constant support and source of encouragement. None of this would have been possible without her constant motivational speeches. Thanks to Trasie too, for quickly ...

Quit Smoking : Another attempt

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006
This is so fucking addictive. Since morning, I’ve done nothing. Nothing. NOTHING. Besides, clicking on PFC and checking the latest posts and comments. Damn it! VP calls “oz, how about having the meeting today?” It’s the monthly meeting I have with the VP. But the posts on PFC are too fucking addictive. Vice President can go to hell. “VP, I have a major emergency at one of our locations, some servers need urgent replacement… lets do this tomorrow” Major Emergency? The only fucking emergency on my desk is my hand subconsciously moving the mouse over the refresh button every 5 seconds. Have to do something and get away from some FUCKING PRETTY EXCITING DISCUSSIONS… so much so that I missed writing something ...

200,000 hits and oz’s Secret Writing Principles

Monday, September 4th, 2006
Somewhere between Sunday night and early Monday morning, Desi Train crossed the 200,000 mark. I know it is a small figure compared to others who achieve that mark in a single day, yet for a virtually unknown blogger it is an important milestone. I started counting readers since August 2005. In May 2006 we reached the magical figure of 100,000. In 8 months!!! And now another 100,000 has been added in just half the time!!! Amazing!!! Thank you dear readers ^:)^ Thank you for being so gracious. Thank you for visiting this train, each day, every day. Thank you for letting me know that you enjoy the ride on this train. Thank you for your love, pranks, cracks, jacks, insults, threats and everything ...

Desi Contracting Companies : The bad & the ugly

Friday, August 4th, 2006
Desi Contractors in the USA. They run firms that go to India and bring qualified professionals to the US on an H1 B visa. The professional puts everything on line and places his/her trust in the hands of these companies. And then start the horror stories. In the last six months I have come across countless number of professionals who have received nothing but pain, mental torture, agony and blackmailed by these Contracting companies. They have not been paid a single dime, there have been very few interviews that were arranged for a project and most of the time the professionals end up being interviewed by “other” contracting companies, the dozens that exist between them and the actual client. It’s time ...
