I’ve been offered my life’s first “bribe”

Now most of us here know that PassionForCinema is a blog. And all of you most definitely know what a blog is. Now what some of you may not know that not many in Bollywood know what a blog is.

And those internet savvy people in Bollywood’s business arena, are still struggling to define what an “internet”, a “portal” and a “website” is. Notice I didn’t mention they are trying to define what a “blog” is. Cause currently they don’t have the time, energy or the motivation to find out in one click on the web, what actually a “blog” means.

So any website that they get on their Internet Explorer (Firefox is something that they think there’s some kind of a fox on fire, hence they don’t use it) is considered a site. Now if this site discussed something called Bollywood in it’s pages then the grand marketing masters handling Bollywood’s business side of things consider it a “portal”.

So in short anything “website” discussing “Bollywood” is bookmarked as a “portal” on their Internet Explorer (”Safari” to them is an African safari which one goes to after having a big “Mac”)

So a leading manager of one of the “Big” production houses is on her computer, blindly mass mailing emails that “the big THEY” would like to have an “alliance” with you - you meaning you the website owner… sorry, the portal owner. In all reality you have a blog called PFC.

“Alliance” in their words is providing Content to your website in exchange for you giving them banner space for their movies.

What is this “content”

Reviews of their movies. Yes. No kidding. They will provide you the blogger the reviews that you the blogger will publish on your blog… sorry “portal”

Trailers of their movies. Great. The internet is so parched of trailers that this is a big favor being conferred on you the blogger. Sorry “portal” owner.

Videos of promotions of their movies. I am so horny. I will now get to see on my own blog… sorry, portal, the various parties, music cutting ceremonies, mahurats etc. etc. that I don’t get anywhere else… (perhaps the marketing department does not think that you the blogger visit the million other sites that publish the same content. The only bookmark and RSS feed that you have in your browser, which they naturally assume is an internet explorer, is porn, porn and your blog… sorry, your portal)

Previews, Photos, Wallpapers etc. etc.

So now you know what IndiaFm, Glamsham, Puppyshame and whatnot your have there do to run their websites.

Of course all this the “Big Daddy” production house will provide us with the condition that you the “portal owner” will put banners of their movies on the sites.

This is a big favor they are doing to you, so asking for commercial remuneration for part or full of their content is nothing short of blasphemy.

This is their idea of a “alliance”…

Firstly I would like to go… WHAT MOTHERFUCKING IDEA DID THEY GET THAT THE BLOGGERS ARE THE BIGGEST IDIOTS ON THE INTERNET?

And who in the sanest of minds would send such an email to PFC???

Lastly, anyone who can shoot mass emails, can apply for a Marketing Manager position at [ahem].
