The rum's aged 12 years... maybe 8... maybe 6 or perhaps not at all. Doesn't matter. Anurag Kamat and Nishikant Kashyap were two stooges who hid in a 20 foot container and arrived in the US, five years ago on a dark black friday taking a dombivili fast local to dive into the container waiting for them in the shipping yard. Now working as waiters in a dingy Orange County Desi restaurant where kulfi falooda is actually koolfi gathiya, since the clueless owner of the restaurant relies on these two container chaap refugees.

7 days of 2 hour daily sleeps, watching movies for almost half of the days, constant beer and screwdriver diving, standing, sitting, standing and standing, reaching home by 3:30 pm, waking up at 7 or 8 because Anurag and/or Nishikant are up along with other PFC-ites... it all ended last night after t! and I dropped Anurag and Nishikant at the airport for their flight back to Bombay.
It was fun, exciting and it fucking ended too soon.
Got my first 8 hour nap in seven days. Still groggy and a bit tired. Will be writing on the IFFLA closing on PFC shortly.

The MBA Gang is coming next week out in print to order and eBook for Download editions.
I would first like to thank the first members of Desitrain's Inner Circle - those who encouraged me to go ahead and write fiction - however shitty it may have been. Neha Kamath, Shuchita Nayak, Pundalik Dhuri, Chandni Malik, Neha, Vi, Manoj Mhapankar, beeonthebrow, Ranga (WB), Cliff Letterman and many others who kicked my bottom to get on with it. The result is more than 6 fiction stories since The MBA Gang.
Thanks to Trasie Stittsworth, from Hollywood, for being a constant support and source of encouragement. None of this would have been possible without her constant motivational speeches.

There are those you would shag and move on. And then there are those where everything comes to a standstill. There is no shock. There is no revelation in a monumental moment. There is no lightning, storm brewing up, thunderstorms.

Sumeet like many of you has been an ardent Desi Train reader. He moved to Orange County about a year ago and since then, my house has become a weekend inn for him. And he's progressed leaps and bounds in pickup and all the things that interested him.
Recently he invited me to his birthday party at the Sharks Club, which at one time used to be my favorite Saturday hangout.

Nostalgia all around. It's almost 9 years in America. Never left the shores except for week to India 5 years ago or the weekend trip to Mexico.
Been importing all the pictures that I've collected in these 9 years. Surprisingly they form just about 1% of all my precious moments that I play again and again in my head. Not surprising, cause I didn't have a camera for a long time. And when I did I was too bored to click or take it with me.

So I'm here on my first Mac, which is now about a month old. It's around 9am and I'm going through it's features that I would normally not care to browse through. (But you tend to do that when you are home, freelancing and nothing much to do, except meeting Ms. Rosy Palms every few hours)
iPhoto on Mac is one of the coolest features that helped me put life into dull, boring photos that excited you the first time you looked at them, but then got tired of it.

Cage-bhai will soon be in India. Reason. It's all a part of the massive (?) attention to India being given by the heavy weight studios in Hollywood.
The film?

And that's not it.
The movie will be directed by... umm... the King of "Will I ever make a film post announcement"...
Mr. Shekhar Kapur.
So we all can read this news and move on. Because in Shekhar's case, there is a 9.999999 out of a 10 probability that the movie will never be made.
If the movie does get made and gets a release then we can all thank the miracle of some "sadhu" who may have blessed this project that is ...

A decade and a half ago he called the cricket selectors "a bunch of Jokers"... he was fired from the Indian Cricket Team for this.
Today he's the head of the Selection Committee. A few months ago he goes starts acting like a bull-dozer over-riding many of the coach's decisions.
The man ofcourse is Dilip Vengsarkar. It would be worth having a look of his facial reaction if he's asked whether he feels "like a joker" today.
