Moving… but where?

Time to move… it’s getting to heavy, too problematic, too many crashes, too many cleanups, too much stress trying to keep the thing from falling apart… been searching for a new place… email people I know… calling people I know… a new home is needed… and at the earliest possible…

Oh Wait… in case it’s caused any confusion… Looking for a new home not for me… I’m fine where I live (as of now)… It’s for Desi Train and PassionForCinema…

The hits are mind boggling and my host is tearing his hair… he wants me to move on to a dedicated server plan… costs through the roof… he’s a bit pricey… but that’s because the service response time is 5 - 10 minutes. That’s one reason why I still stick with him… but the blogs have outgrown the guys technical capabilities I guess… On the election day in America, his servers suffered a spate of DDOS attacks and he just sat there reasoning that nothing can be done… with me… I thought there were good enough tools present out there that could prevent a server from crashing under a DDOS attack… guess he’s not familiar with them…

Been window shopping. Requirements are (1)Must have a quick response time to any problems I email or call about… high the criticality fast the response (2)Must have experience in hosting Wordpress blogs (3)Dedicated server option…

… which brings me to the many advises I’m getting here… and it’s left me hanging over the confusion noose…

What’s the difference between a dedicated server and a virtual dedicated server?

Some have advised me to go in for a SAN solution? Do I really need it? Who provides such services?

Horrific advises like I should buy my own server and host it from my house…

So if you have any pointers to which hosting company I should call - do comment or email in…

Have you ever experienced life being at a standstill for not just a few weeks but more than just a couple of months?

I am intrigued over what people do or how they survive over that period where everything is dry, shrunk and cold… perhaps I need a Mantra to kickstart…

Over
to see Guru this evening. t! and Sumeet join in. Not sure why, but in a mood to drink a few Kingfishers. Brings back memories. Good memories. So we’ll be having a few before walking in for the movie.

Things look swell with PFC’s Bombay Gang… actually things always look great when they visit the sets of No Smoking… it’s the “coming home” for most of them, a place where they are understood, their ideas appreciated, their imagination slips into hyper drive and an environment where they CONNECT with EVERYTHING.

Feels good to see the passion and energy. I hope each one ends up making movies they dream of. Their way.

So any plans for the weekend? Me having tons of house cleaning to do… plus there’s this nagging desire to go to the beach and read a few books or coffee, sandwiches and beer. Maybe I’ll do just that… what about you?

Whatever you do… Ya’ll be good, stay safe and have a Rocking Weekend!!!
