Bollywood Memories : JP Dutta
We were supposed to talk about JP Dutta’s filmography for a few minutes, before moving to the next topic. Guess what? We ended up talking about him and the directors who formed the intermediate step to taking Bollywood away from it’s terrible “tha thaiyya matka matki” movies of the dreaded eighties.

Definitely an excellent talk session. All the directors you listed were very talented. Esp. Rahul Rawail with Arjun and Dacait. He pretty must lost direction in the 90s and so far in the 21st century.
JP Dutta also lost it after Border. Refugee & LOC were shabby stories and right from the time he announced UJ I knew it was not something I’d be interested. Maybe thats coz I can’t really stand Aishwarya…..Wonder why AB Jr. is so much into her.
I think 1 director you forgot is N. Chandra. His first 3 movies were excellent - Ankush, Pratighaat and Tezaab. After that he too lost direction with some weird stuff. Wajood, in late 90s, was still watchable but I couldn’t believe he made Style. Think about it, the guy who made those first 3 movies made Style. Damn!!!
