How Much Is Too Much?

I do my best but you asking me to do the minutest things is too much for me

That was the comment of my dear roommate (who writes on PFC too). The comment was made with respect to my “analness” on Cleanliness and Organization. I’m a stickler for these two. Everything has it’s place, its position, its shelf. So when I found his cooking oil bottle lying next to the stove for a few days instead of going into the second top shelf from the bottom in the second cupboard next to our refrigerator, I reprimanded him on it.

The bottle did go back to its duly assigned position and place, but the next day the cooking stove wasn’t spotless clean - or may I say not clean according to my standards. Boom. Reprimand.

Discussing the issue with him, led me to realize that everyone has different levels of standards for everything in life. I knew that. It just came up again for me to realize it again, that which had been lying dormant in my subconscious.

How much is too much?

I mean… have we had too much of Govinda that we just don’t care that the pre-publicity stunt- baaji declaring his act in Priyadarshan’s Bhagam Bhaag being absolutely marvelous… as reported here?

The article titles it as the ‘Rocking Comeback’ of Govinda… Rocking? I mean do these guys even know what “Rocking” means?
Did they actually mean “Mocking”?

Govinda may spring a surprise but if all the TV Channels keep shooting to our Televisions those sick pathetic Govinda movies 7 days a week… it’s time for us to take “sanyas” from movies and do something else… which is “rocking”.

Can’t they stop relaying his movies every morning evening and night? For God sake I’m watching more of Govinda than looking at my mini-me!!!

FUCK!!!!!! How much is too much?

And the general perception is that Ramu-jee has lost it. What with Sholay becoming Cholay or something which now I don’t even care about. And that’s the problem. You don’t have to put yourself in our face with your new project every day of our lives. I mean life is moving pathetically each day. Now you and your Cholay being thrown at our faces every morning makes it simply miserable.

Another day of a Ramu or his Cholay and I’m ready to slash my wrists and while I’m doing that I’m pretty sure he’ll be out making another statement or giving some out sound bytes to the media… SHIT…. Now with those slashed wrists I wanna cut my neck and move into a Ramu-Cholay free world.

I think this new film maker - shares the same feeling when out of his frustration he’s making a movie called Ramu Ho Gaya Paagal

Really how much of this publicity is too much? How much is too much?

Meanwhile everyone in the media and every media outlet on the internet is going ga-ga over how Amitabh Bachchan shot 23 scenes in 5 hours. He’s doing Apoorva Lakhia’s “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and that’s where he made this achievement.

Now I don’t know what standards or benchmark exists in Bollywood that 23 in 5 is considered awesome. Well ok it may. But when every click this morning to any desi website splashes this news on my face… I’m fucking ready to take my computer screen and smash it on my head…. SOMEONE GIVE ME A BREAK… OR I’M GONNA SMASH THIS FUCKING SCREEN ON MY HEAD 123 TIMES IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES…

Come one… he did his job… he did it good. The day’s over. Don’t fucking sit on it and splash it on every news site!!!! Do you FUCKING THINK THAT EVERY FUCKING DAY WE GO TO JUST ONE WEBSITE ON THE INTERNET GET OUR DAILY NEWS DOSE AND LOG OFF - all content and happy… aahhh - “I visited my one internet site today. I got my news. I’m so happy and fulfilled” FUCK FUCK FUCK… How much is too much?

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew visits Bollywood along with his delegation of 12 people - in an attempt to promote tourism…

I’ll repeat that again in a more detailed way - dear reader - in case you didn’t get the joke -

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew came from England to India. He went to Bollywood - Yash Raj Studios in particular - along with 12 of his people - to promote tourism in England.

I mean hasn’t he had enough of us Indians already? I mean when the citizens of your nation prefer “chicken tikka masala” to sex, you seriously should be looking somewhere else to promote tourism that the PLACE WHERE CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA COMES FROM.

But that’s not the point of this news. No one of the news sites reported on the discussions that took place - instead they were reporting “Abhishek (who was at Yash Raj studios to greet the Prince) sported a hairband (yet again) and a diamond stud.” - Wait a minute… are you reporting on a Prince’s business visit or someone’s hairband? What next? The Prince bought long striped Kachchas from Lamington Road?

Really How much is Too Much?

It really gets to you sometimes doesn’t it. After a long time I was reading some India’s news site and one of the headlines read -

Inquiry into the illegal landing of a chopper carrying Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in some village in Gujarat and that there were angry protests opposing the pollution of environment by the landing of that chopper.

I mean, how is this news or if it actually qualifies as news, isn’t it too much?

    Bhai, wah!! ^:)^

The last song in the juke box is seldom listened, and the end of now is NOW. Exactly - how much is too much??

  3. kartik krishnan Says:

and guess what … the auto driver who had driven Brangelina has become a mini celebrity of sorts in pune … thanx to the overhyped media ..

I’ve actually seen media people/TV Journalists asking these questions

“Jab aapko peeta ja raha tha … toh aapko kaisa lag raha tha ??? ”

“Jab dahej ki maang kari toh aapko kaisa laga ??”

“Jab aapko cheda gaya tab aapko kaisa laga ?? ”

These days even the media is overacting !!!

Is AB Jr’s hairband IMPORTANT THAN A FOREIGN DIGNITARY COMING OVER TO PROMOTE TOURISM ?????? ~X(

  4. Bishu Says:

Oz-bhai,seeing more of Govinda than mini-me err I mean mini-you ? It happens when you are forced to watch a dick-head :d .

RGV has lost his marbles and is not ready the admit that. May be Hindi filmi audience should do their bit of Gandhigiri and stash flowers on his charo-taraf accompanied with Get-Well-Soon cards.

Prince Andrew walking to YR studios to promote tourism means only one thing. More and more film-makers are going to Austria and elsewhere to catch a glimpse of Alps and green valleys. May be he pleaded to Mr. Fat Wallet producer that it’s high time for Bollywood to embrace the old Lundun and Scotland as the location.

Fully agree with WB that “How much is too much”.

  5. Honhaar Goonda Says:

erm, we are part of a media now, so we could make a difference. rather than venting on those kind of news - we should talk about ……..

Complains don’t make any changes; it’s people who make changes.

  6. VC Says:

There are two aspects to the Indian Media nowadays…
    How much is too much
    How low is too low
And there’s a fierce competition going on in hitting new levels…
