Monday Blues
My networks engineer is leaving on a month long leave. My boss doesn’t have a damn replacement. The urgent request to get a temp is lying somewhere at the bottom of the pile of emails he religiously collects each day. Does my VP of MIS even know what shit we are getting into?
Actually he’s no different from 99% of the people who make things happen in the cinema industry. Example? Come on do you need examples? Really?
The one thing that cheers me up on Monday morning at the most boring place on Mother Earth (please don’t scratch your head - that boring place is my Office) - is to read exciting news of new projects coming out of Bollywood.
This Monday has to be the worst…
Remember there are now two remakes of Sholay? One is the RGV brand. While the other is the Ekta Kapoor’s Bhojpuri version.
Well, guess what? Thakur - the role played by Sanjeev Kumar - in the original Sholay - will be played by - Hold your breath….
Jeetendra - in the Ekta Kapoor’s Bhojpuri remake (called Gabbar Singh)
If you thought your quota of depressing news on Monday started to overflow just by reading that one bit of news… wait… there’s more… Please dear reader, lets share this pain and lessen it all together.
Ram Gopal Varma’s New Project : Sex Haazir Ho

No I’m not kidding. I mean… Let’s forget about the genius and intelligence… but is “Sanity” leaving RGV’s factory faster than Rajdhani Express? What is this? Boo… Marwana Zaroori Hai?
Even though I secretly feel Ekta Kapoor’s Bhojpuri Sholay may just become the biggest hit in the history of Bhojpuri films, how desperate do you have to get to ensure a “hit” by calling your movie Sex Haazir Ho?
Meanwhile where is our pal Kay Kay Menon? He’s nursing his wife’s arm and gives straight in your face comments on why he cannot be a Govinda…
Now, I have absolutely no expectations from JP Dutta’s Umrao Jaan. I firmly believe it’s an exercise in arrogance, vanity and self-indulgence. And even though I don’t want “any” producer to lose money in whatever they make, sadly, I don’t see Umrao Jaan going anywhere beyond the matinee show on Friday.
Is this why JP Dutta cooks up rumors of an Ash-Abhishek wedding?
And when he’s caught he blows his top… I think the age of JP Dutta’s kind of movie execution is long gone. Story telling moved to a new age, Dutta hasn’t. I wish he would. His visual sense was one of the most brilliant ones that created quite an impression on me during college days.
Just checked the stats on PFC and was browsing through this map provided by my stats counter provider. It shows the people from various countries who are looking at PFC at that moment. May just have got you in this picture if you were on PFC at around 10am (PST) on Monday. Nice to know people from countries like Japan, Taiwan and some countries in Africa too have people that read PFC… Thanks!

Sex hazir Ho is a Pritish Nandy Production. If the rumour mill is to be believed.. RGV is loosing money rapidly and hence he has started directing movies for outside banner to get the Factory up and running again. Above mentioned movie is about Porngraphy and a look at making it legal to cut the crime rate. But yeah.. werent we talking about Movie names, trailers, posters, etc just a few days back here?

Dead link alert Oz
Kay kay interview is not on Mumbai Mirror!
Isn’t Ramu doing the movie with Pritish Nandy?
I don’t think the project will get off!. Just a ploy to be in the news.

Oz,
Just noticed that on the Mumbai Mirror site, on the top-right corner, there is an option to “select previous issue”..so probably including the date and title of the story in the posts would help readers to refer to the original article
