World Cup Soccer : Italy pushes out Germany
What a game!!! What a game!!! I am still reeling under the classic attack plans of the Italian team. Unfortunately they kept finding the goal post… until in Overtime, in the last two minutes, before the game could move towards the penalty kicks phase.
Another dreamy pass to Fabio Grosso and this time his left foot curls the ball right into the net.
A minute later…
Another of those out of the world passes right infront of the German Goal, and Del Piero force taps it over the German goal keeper.
Two goals in the last two minutes of the game. O BOY!!! That was some game. To be fair, Germany rattled the hell out of Italy and made them play their hardest one this cup. The Italian team too was having a tough time with the Juventes scandal going on back home.
What are you guys betting on for the next semi final? France or Portugal?

After the way Zidane carried his team against Brazil, I’m rooting for France. Again, it’s only because of Zidane :)

The other semi has to be France. They ran the Brazilians ragged in the QF…..created a lot of space in the mid-field and the defence did not give the famed brazilian quartet much chance. And Ribery has been a revelation for the French. Viera is always dangerous so the form favors the French.
I love Portugal and hate England but think the English had the better of the exchanges in their QF match. The Portugese were better in the breakaways but the English defence stood firm. And it will be extremely difficult for the Portugese to break down the French defence. Cristiano Ronaldo and company might bother the French defence once in a while but not enough to score a goal. And as far as mid-field is concerned on current form Zidane is better than Figo.
And in the finals, I am afraid Italy will prevail over the French.

I think it is going to be France all the way. They will get past Portugal 2-1 and then the scoreline for finals will read 3-1 in favor of France. Italy are good, but will meet more than their match in France.
France are winning this world cup, and Zidane will walk in the sunset in full glory!!!

Well, what a match….was damn pissed of with the news that a “paper” needed to be passed to Lehmann before every penalty kick that Argentina took!! Glad to see Germany go after that. Looks like it is going to be a France Italy final. Wouldnt want to bet on the outcome of that match!! And will have to wait four more years to see Argentina win the World Cup. Damn!
