Remember we always keep coming back to the "Alpha Male", whenever we talk about Pickup and Dating? Badboy emailed this last night and it is worth reading and re-reading it a few hundred times. Badboy mostly goes in for the direct method... You walk right upto the lady of interest and simply tell her what you feel about her.
Badboy is also known for his shock treatment. For AFCs (Average Frustrated Chumps) who fear the "result" of approaching a woman, BB goes for the worst case scenario. He'll get the AFC to first put a naughty smile on his face, get his body language rocking and then ask him to walk up to the girl sitting on the next ...
Chillin with Anil Kapoor
Thursday, June 29th, 2006
It's quite interesting to see Anil Kapoor's career graph. Sometime I feel his career decisions were like chessboard moves. One of the most interesting aspects is to see how he moves from here when his daughter, Sonam is working as a lead actress in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next.
They were the trio ruling (not quite) Bollywood in the eighties. Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol. Jackie Dada seems to be done and vanished. Sunny Paaji - Ram jaane... but Anil Kapoor has this knack of kicking back in with a hit after every set of flops. I haven't been a big fan of his choices in recent times. But his dedication ...

Superman Returns : Sweet Sour Split
Wednesday, June 28th, 2006
The man in red and blue silently enters the bedroom of someone special. With tears in his eyes he softly speaks the words once spoken to him by his own father, Jor–El.
Flashback to reality, somewhere between 1974 and 1988. If around this time you were born, alive and could make sense of the world around you and by some sudden act of fate, you had this intense desire - "I want to see a military camp", then all you had to do is pick up the phone and call... oz.
The problem was there was only one cadet in this camp. oz. You would have found two others. The Marshals of this camp. Mom and Dad. And life was hell ...

The Genius of Mani Ratnam : by Kartik Krishnan
Tuesday, June 27th, 2006
Kartik, is a hardcore movie fanatic who sleeps, drink, eats, dreams nothing but movies. When he's not doing that, he is on Desi Train reading the latest posts. Kartik is in the process of completing his very own short movie.
Here is Kartik's take on Mani Ratnam, the master story teller who revolutionized the way screenplays are constructed.
Over to Kartik:
Oz Bhai... since you want to be taken down the southern Tollywood lanes... lemme guide you with one of my idols and arguably the best director of recent times....Mr. Mani Ratnam...(quote- unquote source Imdb)
"The man who revolutionized Tamil-language cinema, Mani Ratnam is the biggest director in south India and one of the most respected directors in all of India. Each ...

[Updated June 27, 2006]
This post and the pictures in it are based on real events that took place in oz's life on Friday, June 23rd 2006.
. . . . . .
Friday 3pm. I'm back at work pacing around to wrap the week up when Mo calls.
"Yo Dog, What's the plan for the night?"
I really haven't given it a thought. For once I wanted to go out and chill. Have a few drinks and unwind.
"No sarging tonight Mo. But I'll be glad to go out and have a few"
"Damn it bro!!! Mitch and Orn are coming because of you"
I forgot about it completely. Mitch and Orn were two shy early 30s Software geeks whom I had met at the ...
Krrish : Koi Childish Gaya…
Friday, June 23rd, 2006
He looks in the camera with a scowl "Breaking News. I have now developed a computer that can see everybody's future. Now I will rule the world. HA HA HA"
A combined effort in the fields of astrology, astronomy and technology along with the sincere efforts of writers Robin Bhatt , Sachin Bhowmick, Honey Irani, Akash Khurana and Rakesh Roshan-jee, the computer is ready and flashes on screen the future...
You squirm in your seat, while chewing the last bite of your soggy samosa - the only entertaining part in this two and a half hour mistreat. And to think the "Breaking News" comes from the mouth of an artist you would willingly bow and prostrate to, makes the stomach kick upwards ...

I know you think I'm being so stupid here. But today is a good day and I truly believe that I'm coming across geniune, honest people who want to help.

Krrish : IndiaFm has a review
Thursday, June 22nd, 2006
So our guys at IndiaFm just watched (assumption) Krrish and have done a mini micro super mini review-less review of Krrish.
And by the looks of it, they seem to have liked it quite a lot. Their sincerity and enthusiasm in the (reviewless) review is highly contagious and has now prompted oz to go out and see the movie this weekend tonight. So oz will give in and believe the guys one more time (the 675th time actually).
I know, I know... that most of you hate whatever IndiaFm opines on... but... I think this time they are right on target. I am a gullible guy and I will give them the benefit of doubt. I think this time they sincerely ...
Rajnikanth : A peek into his life and career
Thursday, June 22nd, 2006
There have been quite a few emails trickling in requesting a post on Rajnikanth's career. My only experiences in Tamil Cinema have been - watching Chinna Thambi, Thiruda Thiruda, Kamal Hassan's adaptation of Drohkaal and a few others - during my trips to Chennai where a close friend would take me to the theaters.
I had mentioned in my last comment inviting readers to write about Rajnikanth - the invitation is still open. Desi Train hasn't taken tracks that lead to Tamil cinema and this would be a good journey for all of us. So if you think you have quite a few things that you would like to share on Rajnikanth's life and career... I urge you to shoot ...
The highest paid Indian actor
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006
Get this. Who is the highest paid Indian actor? Yes he should be working in India in Indian movies.
Shahrukh? HA!!! Try again.
Salman? Ah!!!.... way off!
Abhishek? No way!
Aamir? You gotta be kidding me!!!
Dammit then who can it be?
Sunny? Amitabh? Akshay Kumar?? Hell not even close!!!
You've got to be kidding me. But when I read the news, I was surprised myself. How could this be. No way. I know that about 12 - 15 years ago this guy was the first to charge One Crore Rupees for a movie ($250,000)... but that was 12 YEARS AGO!!!!!
And he still rules!!! He's known to be a thorough gentleman, a very down to earth person, spiritually inclined and a very giving human being.
Ladies ...
Vibe : The heart of Attraction & Seduction
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006
I've wanted to write some real exciting revelations I've had in the last week after meeting the Juggler Method guys in Los Angeles. Blame it on me getting bored of the same old same old DT Header Picture. So last night instead of writing the post that I've been so excited about, I was redesigning the header portion.
If you haven't noticed it so far, there are 9 small Desi Train header pictures on the top left corner which rotate one after another. So no, as per AP's email of this morning, I'm not sitting on my computer changing the Desi Train logo every 15 minutes. :)
Anyways - here's something I would like to start with. I know I always go ...
Scoop : Kartik reveals Sanjay Gupta’s secret
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006
I open my eyes this morning to read Kartik's comments on the last Sanjay Gupta post at Desi Train.
I'm upgrading it to a Desi Train article status. Full Kudos to Kartik for coming out to tell us the inside scoop on the Sanjay Gupta produced Dus Kahaniyaan.

Oz Bhai…i don’t have a blog so i dnt know where else to post this…
Ok ok ..this might be a frustrated case of Angoor khatte hain (the grapes are sour). Or this might be a case of screw u Mr Sanjay gupta for not giving me a chance…Whatever it is ..i cant resist the temptation to see about Dus kahaniyan and think about the possibilities/lost opportunities/not having ...
Sanjay “Zinda” Gupta : Transformation?
Monday, June 19th, 2006
Sanjay Gupta is working on a number of movies, producing all these new projects that are being directed by others, from Apoorva Lakhia to Meghna Gulzar.
Now our Desi Train wouldn't have cared to stop at this news station until these posters of Gupta's upcoming movies caught my eyes.
Specially the tag lines and the visuals of Dus Kahaniyaan and Alibaug were very very intriguing. And just got the news that Shootout at Lokhandwala has Vivek (Viviek? Vievieak? Whatever) Oberoi is playing a bad guy in it. Now that is something. He hasn't done anything similar after his one and only commedable performance in Company.
Now except for Shootout at Lokhandwala (S.A.L.) the tag lines of the other two look just fine. ...
Sultans of Screenwriting : Salim - Javed
Friday, June 16th, 2006
Salim Khan. Javed Akhtar. They came. They saw. They conquered. They created dream stories for the big screen. Stories that everyone identified with. Stories everyone fell in love with. Stories everyone wanted to bring to reality.
Be it the man sitting in a plush office with a CEO stamped on his business card or the cart pusher on the street below. Be it the curly haired Catholic teacher in school or the always irritated guy issuing tickets behind the railway window. Or it was the tensed Mom or the happy go lucky buddy sipping tea at street corner tea stall. The gregarious Punjabi or the shy Tamilian. The inquisitive Bengali or the enjoying nariyal paani on Juhu Beach - Marathi. ...
