   Oz, I didn’t realize Wordpress had such weak security features but the behavior of those “few MSM websites” isn’t surprising at all. I’ve seen MSM websites rip, almost word for word, actual posts (not drafts!) by bloggers and produce them as news articles or opinion pieces without a single reference whatsoever. It’s happened despite the respective bloggers’ blogs showing the original posts for the entire world to see! It’s a shame though that they would go so far as to actually hack someone’s wordpress setup and steal drafts like that.

   It’s a pity wordpress doesn’t show dates of saved drafts that weren’t published…or maybe I just haven’t gotten it to display them myself. If there’s any way to show dates/times that drafts were saved, IMO you should post some screenshots of of your drafts (from the Wordpress admin panel).

   Disgusting, but sadly, not surprising, since it seems to happen a bit too often, MSM ripping off blogs http://indiauncut.blogspot.com/2005/01/plagiarism-in-indian-blogosphere.html

   Oz, grab the logs and note down the times of access/IP addr.. maybe some more details and then “parda faaash”? Should sensationalize this ala media ishtyle.. actually reproduce those articles here with emphasis on plagiarised parts.. and post to DP, DC, etc. Hit the submit button and leave it to ppl.

   btw it (this loophole) might be a plugin related thingie..

   Apologies for my ignorance - I don’t know what’s an MSM exactly.

   But, I can tell you what I have been told by my tuition teacher when I tried copying home work from a friend. He said (in telugu), “you cross ass, copying from him it’s the same as eating his shit. He read, digested and disseminated the stuff on to a paper and you are happily eating it - like a road side pig.”

   Oz - Pavan plan is kick-ass! Unmask the shitty pigs and let DT riders take over.

   This is disgusting… and it aint the first time it’s happening. I could have understood if some fellow blogger indulged in this kind of stealing… but the MSM??? Maybe for the short term you should move back to more primitive ways, like say MS Word :(

   Anewez, I guess it wouldn’t be a bad idea for all of us to put up a “black ribbon” on our sites in protest, so that these guys whenever they visit our sites, they should atleast feel a lil’ ashamed of themselves…….

    Oz,
    I would suggest you oust those who copied your stuff, regardless of what its going to make you look like. And in the future, take screenshots of their pages in case they take them offline after realizing they’ve been caught.
    At least that’s what I’d do. If you want a google analytics account I can get one for you, that way you can track down the ips of everyone visiting your site. Your server guys don’t need to tell you who’s been visiting your site.
    Its a good thing I never save my drafts on the internet. Good old notepad++ and copy and paste for me yes sir..

    Thank you for your solid support!!! As of now I have pulled most of the drafts down and have discontinued writing drafts in Word Press.

    I’ve read all your valuable suggestions and am working on them. I’ll may shortly publish a post on the screenshots and comparisons as you have suggested.
