An evening with the dead

Thanks to Jim, a Desi Train reader, I came to know that there is a Screenwriters’ meet coming up in Orange County. About 10 miles from my place. Well that would be interesting. To go and meet successful (and the not so successful) screenwriters in Southern California.

So last evening, I click on the link that Jim’s emailed me and land on the screenwriters website.

Wow the meet ups today. Evening. I’m pumped. There are so many questions, so many things to know - to ask, so many pointers that I need from the greats. I’m going. I fill in my details in the meet-up form and am about to click the “submit” button, when the location of the meet catches my eye.

The location of the meet-up is at: “Advantage Mortuary and Cremation Services”

What the fuck!!!!! I mean what intense tragic and horrifying experiences do screenplay writers go through, that they now meet at a place meant for the dead.

Complete peace and ideal environment to write and exchange the most creative ideas of all.

Honestly I believe that the meet location has another advantage. The writers won’t have to worry that the dead will steal their ideas. Perfect.

Me giving this meet a skip. Hopefully the next one is at a place where Darna Zaroori Nahin.
