Friday wrap-up

The net’s going ga ga over Rang De Basanti. Everyone has something to say about it. One better than the other. Such has been the impact on watching the movie, there is a noticeable tremendous intensity in each blogger’s post. It’s frighteningly contagious, so much that…

You have just returned from an ass whooping at your CEO’s office. You sit down, fire up your web browser, go to Google.com and search for “New reviews of Rang De Basanti”. Yes. There are more important things in your life than coming an inch close to getting fired. That shows the passion a person has. Another week like this and you could as well as start a “Rang De Resume”.

So how was your week so far? I ended up at Rohit’s party. Rohit runs the website Naachgaana.com and it was pretty interesting to meet and talk to a few bloggers who were there. There was the “Angry Critic” whom I found not to be an angry person at all. On the contrary he had me in splits. And then there was Abhi from the Sepia Mutiny.

I’ve never met another blogger before this party (which totally wasn’t a blogger meet, a simple social gathering arranged by Rohit). So when people ask you what do you write on? It kind of puts you in a fix. Hmmm. What do I write on? Bollywood? Friday Rantings? Sex? Mini me? Plain shitty crap? How would you answer the question if you wrote the DesiTrain?

The party was clean and fun. I took my roommate along, and he’s been off alcohol for about 6 months now. But you’r at a party. It’s fun and the mood is great. You tend to pick up a beer. Which he did. It was my second Heiniken and I saw him picking up his first Corona. By the time I was on my second Heiniken, he had just finished his sixth. These are the times you realize that there is no such thing as “picking up a beer”. You either don’t drink or you simply drown yourself in your beer. There’s nothing in between. Well there is…it’s called pissed drunk, a state where you are still drinking but haven’t completely drowned your face in it.

Any readers from San Diego? I’ll be there the weekend of February 17 until Sunday. So if you would like to get together one of the evenings for a drink and have a rocking chat on Blogging, Bollywood and anything under the sun, please drop me an email.
I’ll be close to the Marina Village.

And if you watch RDB this weekend, do email or post in your reactions. It may be tough but I’ll try to watch it this weekend. So until the next post, be safe, be good and have a rocking weekend…
