Winter clothing?

Revisiting Sedona, this Christmas. Checked the Weather channel. Sedona’s expected to have an inch of snow. Shit! It’s been years since I visited a place covered with snow. And I’ll be there for a week.

The problem is I don’t have any idea of what to wear besides the two dozen sweaters knitted by my mom and my two grandmoms. Surely it’s not gonna be enough. So here’s a list of what I think will be needed to ensure oz flies back to sunny California safe and sound.

1. Winter boots, here’s something that caught my eye.
2. Woolen socks
3. Woolen gloves

Now this is tricky, what do you wear under your clothes? Woolen vest under your shirt? Woolen leggings under your pants? Thermal Underwear?

Searching Amazon.com I came across something called the Under Armor Cold Gear Action Leggings and Thermal Underwear like this. What about a thermal undershirt? Here’s one.

The only problem is are they good enough? Do they keep you warm enough (ofcourse besides the sweaters and jackets you are wearing on top). I know lycra can play hell with my skin.

What do you guys wear for snowy winters?

Ozie, just check the whether, If you are gonna freeze yourself to death there, then wear all those fancy gears ..I wonder whether u look like a snowman and santa clubbed to gether with all those layers underneath.:)
but I guess at the most u can wear a cotton thermal or anything better than that and one make three layers on top with long sleeved t shirt and a sweater and a woollen winter coat.
then the boots and woollen pants should be good.
take all those sweaters..and possibly a comforters in case u bump in to a damsel in distress..:))
    ;p

I am not a big fan of thermal underwear, they can get itchy after a while. I usually spend a lot of my time indoors, so my clothes are only intended for the time it takes me to go from one indoor to another indoor.

I wear a jeans, thick socks and shoes, a woolen sweater (not cotton), a good heavy overcoat, gloves, and a woolen cap if needed.

I have no idea of what to wear if you’re spending time outdoors, but make sure you’ve got warmth for your feet and ears - they’re the most neglected and they hurt like hell.

Thermal underwear is fine, just make sure you use lots of moisturizing lotion -Aveeno, Nivea or the likes, before you put it on. Get snow boots that keep your feet warm and waterproof( http://www.sierratradingpost.com/product.asp?base_no=66765). Get a weather appropriate hat and ear warmers (http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?AFC-google&productId=32174419&memberId=12500226). If you have a decent leather jacket that should suffice.
If you are not going to spend a lot of time outdoors, most of these are not required.

    Good luck Bro’
