News is that Neil Strauss, yes - the one who revealed the secret pickup community to the outside world, is retiring from the pickup community. Neil a.k.a Style, in the pickup community, came out with “The Game”, a tell-all book about the insides of the pickup community, which I’ve reviewed here.

Before retiring Neil decided to train 5 chosen ones to whom he would pass the secrets of Pickup, tools he had invented and not yet revealed to the outside world. Before you start thinking…No… I was not one of the chosen 5. The Last Workshop. Final 5. The fee was $15,000 for a 3 day workshop. And when the curtains came down, it was the last, the Pickup community would hear about the Greatest Pickup Masters of All Time (besides Mystery ofcourse) – Style etched in history books of Pickup forever.

The Final workshop took place recently and I’ve been reading about it in emails sent by Thundercat. I’m reading about the final 5, Neil’s secret tools, not yet known to anyone else – which Thundercat calls “The Annihilation Method”, the transformation of 5 geeks who knew nothing about picking up women and were pretty frustrated, the introduction of various pickup gurus who visited the workshop to share some of their secrets with the final 5 and finally I’m hearing echoes that the “Annihilation Method” may turn into a book/video or some sort of an instructional material.

So, where to from here. The greatest PUA has retired, there are now tons of Pick up gurus out there who teach the art of pickup day in and day out, what do you do? Where do you go?

Simply go out, and meet women. Talk to them. Use the basic techniques. Open, Attract, Push Pull, Make a Connection (Yes you have to “Make” one, it just doesn’t happen)…and so on. All the rest of the stuff, the gazillions of teaching material out there are simply nuts on your icecream.

The core part of the entire pickup skill, from my view, is to go out and TALK. Even if you are not attracted to the woman window shopping at mall, the girl at the checkout counter, the one standing infront of you in line for the tickets, the one standing next to her car at the gas station…talk…use the initial basic concepts…Open, Attract, Push pull etc…

But the fear gets to you. It gets you each time you see a beautiful woman or even think of going out to see if you can “cold approach” one…Fear…As “Shark” – a Pickup Guru from Croatia says, - the mind will trick up to believe you don’t need to go out. It will trick you. Lie to you. Make you believe you are tired and it’s not worth the effort. “Shark” and “Badboy” call it the “Matrix” – the thought process which we have been injected with right from our first day on planet earth. And like Neo, we have to realize the Matrix, step out of it, to experience our real powers.

Is it all about pickup? The insights into letting go of our fears and weaknesses that prevent an average guy from approaching a woman – is to say the least – mind boggling. Is it related to simply pickup? No. I firmly believe that they point to all areas of our life, they point to our whole attitude towards life.

I’m working on preparing some material primarily focused to let go of your fears, freeing yourself from all that ties you down, not looking at rejection as a deterrent and in the end simply going out to approach women, talking to them, having fun whatever be the outcome.

I’ll be trying out this material with KJ and DL who are 2 software guys in Orange County. They emailed me a few weeks ago asking me to help them in the romance arena. Since I don’t know them, I was a bit hesitant. But finally after talking to them a few times I decided to give it a shot. If the stuff I’ve prepared for them works out at the clubs we are going out to, tonight, then and only then shall I put the theories/exercises up by early next week. But only if KJ and DL do a few number closes this evening. (KJ/DL – if you are reading this, do understand that I am writing this to put you UNDER EXTRA PRESSURE…just kidding guys)

Fear, will always be there atleast for guys like me. I still skip talking to some girls sometimes out of fear. It will always step in. The goal is to free yourself and let it go. So step forward, be an Alpha-male and approach the next woman you see. As Godfather would say “Be a MAN!!!”
