Wishing all my dear Readers
A Very Happy Diwali !
On another note, let us pray for all the families and individuals, affected by the Delhi bomb blasts. May they find peace and strength in this moment of great tragedy. And let’s hope Delhi gets back on it’s feet in no time to punch terrorism in its face.

Rhandi is an upcoming writer and is currently writing a book on her 26 year (so far) relationship with her car, an orange, 1971 VW Karmann Ghia. With her permission, following are 2 short stories from her book in this post. She’s in the process of moving to Washington where she has plans to make jam with her family, cut her hair short, sell her paintings, find the meaning of life and kick oz’s ass (occasionally) for not having given her a farewell lunch, - not necessarily in that order. She can be reached at kittyhawk9@earthlink.net

Dil Jo Bhi Kahe Shah Rukh

I saw an absolutely delicious looking mango yesterday
So did you eat it?
Yes
Enjoyed it?
No, actually that delicious looking mango was quite bland in taste.
How’s that possible?
It is. After watching “Dil Jo Bhi Kaheâ€, it absolutely is possible.
Now I’m a big fan of Binod Pradhan, the ace cinematographer (famous works: Parinda, 1942). And he’s aced DJBK big time. Mauritius never looked so beautiful before. In fact I’m seriously thinking of packing my bags and moving there. I’ll be so close to nature, the beautiful ocean, India and the hot hot hot blondes of Mauritius. But something stops me from doing just that.
You are broke and can’t move to Mauritius?
No. Not that. Looking at Mauritius through the movie and ...
Cricket - The DEVILS are back!!!
Friday, October 28th, 2005
The devils are back. They come in and like the Ghost Army (Lord of the Rings) slaughter the opponents leaving no room for them to even look up and say “Uh huh?†This is great.
But the tragedy of it is that it a pattern which I have seen often being repeated in the last two decades. Apna (our) devils will soon be defeated and defeated in such a manner as if they never knew what fighting spirit, confidence and cricket mean (exactly in that order). They will look as if they were born with dejection and defeat in their blood and a sense of lost forever.
That in short is the Indian Cricket team for us. ...

Bollywood has a new mantra. Remakes. I like it. And before you roll up your sleeves to sock Desi Train, hear, I pray, hear my reasons. Thank you.
Firstly, the word “Remake†is a so much better word to express artistic creativity, than the word “Copyâ€. It’s an unofficial license. I am “Remaking†sounds so much legal and ethical than saying “I am ‘Copying’â€. I would have been so much better off and gone Scot free if my ninth grade teacher Mrs. Gonzalez hadn’t caught me “copying†in my exams; All I had to do was say with an air of superiority “No M’am, I am not copying…I am simply remaking the answer from ...
Ram Gopal Varma - What’s going on?
Monday, October 24th, 2005
What’s going on in The Factory, Ram Gopal Varma’s movie company? Apparently besides starting makes, remakes, re-re-remakes, sequels, sequel to sequels, RGV is in the news for breakups.
K. Sera Sera which had been a constant RGV partner for the last few years has split with RGV’s film company. Randeep Hooda the talented actor from “D†has split and gone independent ‘n’ international and has been replaced in RGV’s new project “Shockâ€. He’s just completed Karma Confessions & Holy with Naomi Campbell and Sushmita Sen.
Next on the split list is director Rohit Jugraj, who made the disaster “Jamesâ€. But in his conversations with Rediff.com, Rohit lashes out at his mentor,
“Apparently, Ram Gopal ...

Time to restart my Friday Rants a.k.a. Friday Recap a.k.a. Friday Mirchi a.k.a. Friday Fire a.k.a. Friday Fataka…still not settled down on a snappy title.
So its history, archived and aligned on the web pages all over. Tomorrow when anyone types in IIPM, getting loads of negative information would help them know what started it all. The rising of the Desi Bloggers. All hail the new breed – The Blogator, the Blogger with an investigator bent. And the investigations are fast, have a wider range and much much more powerful. Thalassamikra has the latest investigation and its results on IIPM. This is the 3rd or the 4th blog revealing the misleading ways of IIPM.

Govinda Gela Re
Thursday, October 20th, 2005
India TV is at it again. This time airing a presumably decade old video of Govinda and Dawood Ibrahim together. The news on Sify further adds that –
“
It was also not clear where the video was shot but a much younger Govinda could be seen with an equally younger Ibrahim at what looks like the inauguration of a shop.
The video also showed Ibrahim's brothers Noora and Anis Ibrahim and other underworld dons Chotta Shakeel and Abu Salem.
The video had been provided to India TV by one of its viewers, the channels Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma said.
â€
India TV is boiling hot. Last it was exposing Shakti Kapoor and company and now this.
Govinda meanwhile denies ...
The Freedom in Bulla Ki Jana
Wednesday, October 19th, 2005
I’m obsessed. Bulla ki Jana by Rabbi Shergill has been playing on and on for the last 4 days and I can’t have enough of it. Too late to the party.
Better late than never. Blame it on Dish Network for coming in 3 times, checking for signals and saying “Sorry, signal no here. Cut this tree, ground that 12 foot wall, raze the building to the ground, and you will have all your South Indian channels Paco. Mega Pack 49.99.†The fourth time they started using the heads to understand why I had been pointing to the opposite direction. And voila. Desi Channels zoom in right to my house now. You can get the desi packs from two different ...
Toral-jee is fired
Friday, October 14th, 2005
Toral-jee is out. The Apprentice’s latest victim. Donald Trump didn’t have to bat an eyelid to fire our very own desi (or born in the US but of Desi origin) Toral-jee. Oz could not take the tragedy of watching Toral-jee losing out. So Oz jumped a few hundred channels and Carmen Electra in a bubble bath tenderly pataoed (lustily attracted) Oz to forget about Toral-jee.
But this morning, Toral-jee is back, dancing and lamenting about her loss – ofcourse, all of this being played in Oz’s head. Oz has now decided to do the following:-
1. Write to the makers and creators of Hindu/Jain (Toral-jee’s religion is a source of confusion) religion to allow all ...

I may join IIPM
Thursday, October 13th, 2005
The recent flurry of searches on IIPM had Oz (me) intrigued. Add to that another institute I3D was planning to open up and this could only mean there was a huge demand for Management people in the industry. But these two institutes had a twist – they provided the latest tools in Management success to people. So it was done. Oz will do his third MBA which at last will get him a job worthy of providing him a bigger better cubicle than his current one. All information for I3D had been graciously provided by I3D’s dean on their website. IIPM seems to have no information and whatever was available the “evil†online bloggers had cut it ...
IIPM - Blogger War: Update
Thursday, October 13th, 2005
Here’s an excellent 3 point view by Brendan Hodgson on the IIPM v/s Blogger war. Meanwhile Rashmi Bansal posts again on Outlooks printed declaration that IIPM is not on any of its top B-Schools list. It also clarifies that it had removed IIPM from its 2003 top B-Schools list based upon misinformation provided to Outlook by IIPM.
The list of bloggers on DesiPundit, declaring war on IIPM is increasing by the minute. The issue has already gone international and now Committee to Protect Bloggers steps in. The media catches on and now after Hindustan Times, the Indian Express reports on this fight for freedom of speech.
Memories down the Blog Lanes: Top 10
Thursday, October 13th, 2005
I would be lying if I said I blog only because I want to express something, say something, scratch my toned bottom and let the online surfer see it (yes I do have a shaped one, but then you can’t see that…God is merciful).
Nope. It’s the number of readers who hit my blog site to read my post. It’s the acceptance – bouquets or brickbats, which motivates me to fire up my Word doc every morning and start punching the keyboard with another set of crazy theories, ideas, and experiences. Today it’s time to recap a list of my 10 most visited posts that egged me on to write and keep writing.
