The more I dig deep into the secretive pickup community and learn the art and science of a good clean pickup, the more I find that it’s all about being an Alpha male. At times I think it is not that difficult a science as it is being made out to be, and other times I end up thinking…well, forget about it. Here’s a recent discussion I started about the fine line between being an Alpha and an arrogant ass. It has kind of sparked off a heated debate amongst a few in the PU community….

In the pursuit of achieving/imbibing the Alpha personality, are some PUAs and aspiring PUAs falling into the Arrogance trap? Personally having met PUAs who’ve been in the community for over a year or more, I have observed PUAs who in the process of trying to be an Alpha, come out to be nothing but snobbish, arrogant men who have completely lost the way to understanding what a true alpha is.

As “TD” has mentioned in one of his posts, anybody will be naturally be attracted to a complete Alpha personality. Guys would like to go out and shake hands with him and women would like to be in his arms.

But some PUAs, I’ve met in person and online have completely misunderstood this Alpha personality and interestingly all of them are between the ages of 23 to 29. In trying to project an alpha image, I have found them to be rude, temperamental and condescending to people around them. Patience is lacking and people - especially any newbie to the community - seem to be beneath them. They can’t handle the fact when attention is not on them and to grab the same, they interject with rude comments. So is this Negative Alpha?

For an Alpha personality, patience lies in abundance and a down to earth nature is the foundation his personality is laid upon. The alpha never needs or feels the need to win every debate/argument nor does he mind when somebody else takes the center stage.

”Style”, “TD” and “OCW” are the 3 topmost alpha personalities that come to my mind that I have had the pleasure of meeting in person amongst so many others positive alpha males in the community. And then there are some who have misunderstood the entire concept of Alpha. I hope these lost people find their way back to the true path of Alpha salvation.

Note: - no incident or event caused me to write the above. It’s purely based on my observations of being in the community for the last few months.

Well some believe it is imperative to be an Alpha - Ass to game a woman he is trying to pickup in the comparatively short span of time that he has, while others side with my views saying that is not true Alpha. What do you think?
