Zaher, the movie: D U P E D

Chiti Chiti Bang Bang. Mr. Cop-bum’s marriage is on the rocks, and he has his whiskey on the rocks, rock-ah-lullah! Bashing drug sellers in a rock party, where everyone looks like they are from Timbaktoo, Mr. Cop-bum busts a big drug lord (played by spider-like-man), seizes loads of cash from the raid and stuffs it into the air-conditioned police-thana’s T-jori. Lordy Lordy Lordy! The police-thana (read thana = station), now tilts under the weight of the T-jori. Poor johri. I sulk into my seat chori chori. Kaun Banega Crorepati! Mrs. Cop bum cries – I want my pati. Tacky tacky.

Ms. I don’t know why I’m Lost, a.k.a,. IDNWIL, plays with idli in eden vile, breakfast on the beach, for masala please pour spiderish-man’s thaappad. I want some paaapad. Cop-bum rescues Ms.IDNWIL from dark street, recently built at Bombay Studio no 72 on the beat. Ms. IDNWIL has cancer and needs money, Cop-bum comes to rescue. Our poor old T-Jori is empty. Sigh Sigh. Police-Thana tilts back to horizontal slant. Everybody chants. I merely rant rant. I don’t smell my after-shave saantt. Go call dear aunt. Chant chant.

Cop-bum is bummed, drummed lady and spidey found dead in house. No money. Boo-hooo. Shit comes to hit dear sunny. Help comes from friend Cunny. There is upset batata-wada in my tummy. Bummy and Cunny join hands to find money. Oh it is cho cho Chummy chummy.

.
Bhatt camp at it again - picking up each scene, shot, camera angle, dialogue from Denzel Washington’s taunt thriller “Out of Time” to serve you “Zaher”. Yuck, tuck, puke.

It’s time there’s a law which FORCES Movie makers to put a sign at the beginning of the movie, in their ads on TV, in print and on the net that a movie if “inspired” or should we say “carbon copied” from another film, should mention “Copied/Inspired from”. Conned. Left high and dry. Mr. Cop-bum got his money back in the filum, we didn’t. As usual Bhatt-jee camp succeeded in duping us. Again. Bane, dane, run to Lana Lane.

Minus F Grade. For people suffering from insomnia only.

The Bhatt camp has been making B-grade movies or skin flicks for the last few years. Serves you right if you went and bought a ticket for one of them and expected classy/intelligent cinema :-).

The last movie of theirs I watched was Raaz. Supposed to be a hit. What the heck - pathetic acting, B-grade story, and Bipasha posing as Madame pativrata for a stoned-looking Dino Morea. ‘Gimme a break’ was what I thought - and took a break from all their movies.
