Rog: Cure for Insomnia
Question 1: Is Mahesh Bhatt a genius or someone who had one or two great ideas which resulted in Naam, Arth, Saaransh, Janam? And then his brains froze and it can only make scandalous, shocking statements or milk money based on his above few movies.?
Question 2: Does the Bhatt family really think we are fucking idiots that we would fall hook line and sinker for this movie just cause of Ilene Hamann?(she’s beautiful no doubt about that)
Question 3: What the hell is the talented Irrfan doing here?
?
Questions, questions, and ofcourse the snoring of my roommate who couldn’t take more than 30 minutes of this pathetic movie. The story: A woman is murdered. people think woman killed is Ilene. Irrfan investigates. Falls in love with a (dead) Ilene. Ilene comes back. Lady killed is Ilene’s friend. Ilene makes love to Irrfan. Irrfan catches the real killer.
The story is credited to Mr.Bhatt. If this is what a genius is, then I’m feeling FUCKING GREAT ABOUT MYSELF.
And then there is - oh such an irritating writer all through out the movie who is supposed to be Ilene’s mentor. Just, please just, no simply just try - try watching the first two minutes of his dialogue delivery and his acting. Pause the movie after he’s done in his opening two minutes, take your shoe off, and smack it on your head for choosing a different profession as your career. You would be so much better off working as an actor and perhaps if it was in your destiny you could have been playing the writer’s part in this movie and saved thousands of us - from smacking our heads with the shoe today. Were people on the movie’s sets sleeping, when this actor was playing his part that they did not notice this serious part of a writer could actually be turning into a comedy based on how this guy played the part out.
Is Bollywood suffering from a ‘ROG’(disease) where every person in this world suffering this disease declares - “I’ve fucking lost my brains and now I will live my life without it and the easiest way to make a living without my brains is to make movies.”
And WHO THE HELL is investing in such movies. Probably flinging a few dollops of cash towards us would be a much better proposition.
Irrfan is in danger of over-repeating his cool dialogue delivery style. He has to step back from it. Not that it mattered in Rog. Infact he was the only reason why I could endure the movie till its very end.
minus z grade: avoid at all costs
